Mondays (2nd & 4th) 7pm-8:30pm: Bucksport Parent Support for parents of children with emotional / behavioral special needs. In the event of a holiday, the meeting will be held the following Monday. 2/25/02: Bucksport 10-11:30am: "Creating Win-Win Interactions Between Parents and Children" with Ronda Alley, MPF at the Bucksport Adult Learning Center. During this workshop participants will learn that what they say and how they say it will create either a positive or negative response from their children. Discussion will be centered on the benefits of communication techniques as well as the barriers. The goal of this workshop is to provide participants with positive communication techniques to create win-win interactions with children. Target: Parents with Children birth through grade 8. FREE of charge

2/25/02: Bucksport (7 Mondays) 6:30pm-8:30pm: "Preschool and School-age S.T.E.P. Parenting Series" with Judy Nevells, presented by Hancock County Children’s Council and Bucksport Adult Education. The STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) program offers parents practical alternatives for meeting the challenges of raising children today. It can help you find the ways to meet these challenges, one step at a time. Call 469-2129 to register. The course is FREE. The Parent’s Handbook is available for $14.95. 3/07/02: Harrington (6 Thursdays) 6-8pm, "Conflict Resolution – Parent’s and Teens" "PERC" "Parent Effectiveness in Resolving Conflict with your Teen" with Ronda Alley and Linda Levesque, presented by Hancock County Children’s Council and Narraguagus Adult Education. Underwritten by Mainely Parents, a program of Day One. Workshop will be held at Narraguagus High School, Harrington. FREE Minimum of 5 students/maximum of 15 students

Parent Effectiveness in Resolving Conflict with your Teen. Program goals include:

Understanding the nature of adolescence
Learning basic communication skills such as reflective listening, sharing values respectively, cooperative problem solving and negotiating agreements
Practicing the above skills and preparing to handle drug and sex issues
Understanding why the behavior of one family member affects all the other members.
Finding ways to spend quality time together with your teen and as a family
