Police services risen over the past three years.

Increases have been reported for domestic assaults (57%), family quarrels (80%) and disturbances (44%) over this period.

Vandalism has declined by 47%.

Police have responded with more arrests (35%), summons (46%) and warnings (38%).

The detailed police reports included in each year’s Annual Town Reports indicate that the most frequent incidents in Bucksport include auto related defects, radar summons, traffic warnings, and hazardous conditions; complaints about animals, disturbances, harassment, suspicious conditions and calls for assistance, information and a variety of alarm responses. Violent crimes are much smaller, with highest frequency connected to assault and domestic assault.
