  2. Objectives
    1. Comply with State Requirements
      1. Learn more about current State expectations
      2. Identify efficient methods for exceeding expectations
    2. Understand where were are significantly different from other regions
      1. Eg. colon cancer, lung cancer, suicide
      2. Decide whether these differences merit specific intervention
    3. Status compared with goals for 2010
      1. state and regional goals
      2. create "measures of progress" graphs showing years leading up to 2010
    4. local goals
      1. driven by community-based discussions
      2. may be different for each town
    5. Empowerment - local capacity building - participatory research (same as d?)
    6. Program Evaluation for specific interventions - discussion around which programs to track (panel or follow up research)

    2. Need some technical assistance in small groups on actual work
    3. Who collects what data? Want to avoid duplication and appearance of disorganization.
