I. Need for including school health groups in research
Action: Doug will contact the School committee to select a representative for the research committee
II. Health subcommittee training module: Jim reviewed health training outline with committee
Action: Jim will continue to elaborate training program, but most fledgling groups will lack capacity to conduct research until they are better organized.
III. Research protocol
Need to write a consistent research protocol
-Consistent format
-Consistent guidelines for data collection
-combination of dialogue guide and local input
Methods
-Focus groups - incentives, establishing ongoing relationships,
-Interviewing - snowball sampling, identifying local leaders, motivation
-Community forums
-School surveys
-Intercept surveys
Action: Helena will send out the dialog guide
Barbara will contact Cathy Ramaika to put Jim and Kim on mailing lists
Jim will create an interview template with demographics and content
