"8 COUNTRIES IN MAINE"

A County-Wide Activity Challenge

Join us on our travel adventure! Simply count your minutes spent in physical leisure-time activity to complete a 600-mile

round trip through the countries of Maine.

Just 30 minutes of physical leisure-time activity (walking, tennis, kayaking, bicycling, etc.) 3 times per week—minimum—for 8 weeks, beginning October 1st, will complete your journey. Each time you reach a country, your "passport" will be stamped with that country’s flag, and you then continue to your next destination.

Begin in Bar Harbor and visit Peru, Mexico, Sweden, Denmark, Lebanon, Poland, Norway, and China! In your information packet, you will receive a fact sheet, including recipes, for each country.

If you or your organization would like to join our world

tour of "8 Countries in Maine", please call:

Healthy Acadia at the MDI Hospital: 288-5081, Ext. 319
Blue Hill Memorial Hospital Health Education Center: 374-2836, Ext. 231
Coastal Hancock Coalition for Community Health: 667-5304, Ext. 232

8 Countries is sponsored in part by a grant from the Maine Department of Human Services, Bureau of Health, entitled "Collaborative Community And School Health Promotion Programs for the Reduction of Tobacco Use and Tobacco-Related Disease (physical inactivity and poor nutrition).
