"To provide financial and moral support for the creation or expansion of programs that actively involve youth ages 10-14."

This is the mission of the United Way Keeping Kids On Track (KKOT) funding now available to the Greater MDI area. A committee has been convened to oversee grant applications in this area on behalf of the United Way of Eastern Maine and we welcome all applicants that meet the guide lines and over arching principals of the KKOT. If you or your group is interested in applying for these funds, and your proposal addresses the needs of adolescents’ aged 10 to 14, please complete the attached form.

KKOT Overarching Principles...

If the programs support youth either younger than 10 or older than 14, the majority of the populations (over 55%) must be youths aged 10-14. The intent of the funding is to help non-profits or those that can identify a non-profit who will act as the agent who will accept the check from United Way of Eastern Maine.

Funds are not intended to provide long term financing for the program.

So, get the word out! You will find an application along with the guidelines attached. However, should you need another application or further assistance, please contact Peg Wood at the Healthy Acadia office at 288-5331.
