Starting in February, Irene Green Murphy of the Behavioral Health Center will be training interested community members to serve as facilitators for the Creating Lasting Family Connections program. Volunteers will receive a $250 stipend upon completion of the facilitator training and participation in the presentation of a 5 week CLFC module (2 hours each week) immediately following the training.
Creating Lasting Family Connections (CLFC) is a family enrichment program designed to provide opportunities for adolescent youth and their parents to increase communication skills, gain information about substance use and choices, and practice positive and assertive peer interactions. CLFC is a prevention program, aimed at families interested in growing as a family, and increasing communication around a variety of issues.
The training consists of 5 Saturdays - 2/19, 2/26, 3/5, 3/26, and 4/2 from approximately 8 am to 2 pm, and will be held at the Behavioral Health Center in Bar Harbor.
