Prizes Awarded at Third Annual Health-Eating Out week

Sixty-five people shared in a pool of prizes drawn as the result of the Third Annual Health-Eating Out week, a project designed to encourage all of us to eat healthier food, including when we eat out at a restaurant. 1246 patrons ordered healthy meals and submitted entries at their favorite restaurants. The prizes that helped promote and encourage participation in the event were provided by many local businesses. Healthy Eating Out was conceived by the MDI Community Health Plan as a way to promote better health through better living. They were joined by health facilities in Ellsworth, Blue Hill and a collaboration of organizations working together as Healthy Hancock. 80 area restaurants and their wait staff joined Healthy Hancock by presenting this program to help all of us live healthy, longer lives by living better.
